BIOGRAPHY

Powervice was founded in the Eindhoven/Tilburg area in 2004 and got their current line-up together one year later in the summer of 2005. Their goal is to play Hard Rock/Heavy Metal as it was made in the old days. That means: Real men, playing real songs, with real instruments.

Heavily influenced by bands such as early Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Angel Witch, Rainbow and UFO from the U.K. and acts like Manowar and Riot from the United States, Powervice started working on their sound and within three months had recorded a 3 track demo at the Void Studio, Eindhoven with Pieter "Pidah" Kloos. Pidah, famous for his ability to make bands sound natural, raw and honest (instead of overproduced, soulless and fake), managed on a very tight budget to create the Powervice powerhouse sound.

To everyone's surprise, most notably their own, these recordings hit the scene like an A-bomb. Literally within days of the release of the BEHOLD THE OF GLORY demo shows were offered from all over Europe and positive reactions came flooding in from all over the world. With a strong desire for live performances Powervice earned themselves the reputation of a tremendously exciting live act that gets tighter, harder and better with each passing show without ever giving in. The crowds grew ever more excited as hugely successful shows were played all over the European mainland. Supporting bands like Anthrax, Saxon, Riot, High on Fire, Blitzkrieg, Vengeance and Nashville Pussy Powervice have made their name synonymous with Heavy Metal.

With highlights such as a Keep it True VI appearance (with Riot, Ross the Boss, Exciter and Grim Reaper), Up The Hammers (Athens, Greece with Ram and Metal Inquisitor) and a spot on Headbangers open air (with Metal Church) where they celebrated their 50th show since their first date in late 2005, Powervice have proven to be a lasting thing. A beast of a band not remotely ready to leave the arena but quite determined to stay on top of the game.

In the meanwhile however the metal-mainstream audiences have also discovered Powervice through the exceptionally good reviews on both the BEHOLD THE HAND OF GLORY demo and their numerous live shows. For instance they were demo of the month in RockHard Germany courtesy of Götz Kühnemund and famous English reporter Malcolm Dome did an internet broadcast about them in his Total Rock.com show which featured all three songs of the demo and an extensive live interview.

Through sheer determination, perseverance and bloody hard work Powervice has now played over 70 shows and sold close to 2000 copies of their self released/self distributed demo in less than a year.

CRITICS

Zufall?
